Fitness is one of my passions and if you follow me on instagram you’d know that already. Recently I have gotten back to taking better care of my body and building a fitter, leaner look. Therefore when I was sent Moov Now Personal Coach and Sports Tracker by Maple India and they asked me to use and review it I was very pleased! I have been using the device for a couple of weeks now. This post is a review of my experience with it. In a nutshell though: it is a coach worth listening to.
There’s no dearth of options in activity trackers today, but that makes choosing the perfect one even more difficult. Moov Now is a reasonably priced option with a twist: it essentially acts as a coach and it can also track your daily activity and sleep. It tracks movement in 3D and the aim is to motivate with audio and visual coaching via a smartphone. Been wearing the Moov Now for 2 weeks, including whilst I sleep.
The retail package of the device includes two straps: one for your wrist and the other one for your ankle. Both the straps are breathable and flexible. There is no display on the device. The band fits snug and never came undone during the workouts.
The app when coupled with the device helps beginner runner s and all the way up to hardcore fitness enthusiasts, meaning that you can choose skill level. One can opt from a number of walking, running and cycling workouts, and Moov Now will direct you through the workout with vocal instructions via your smartphone.
Therefore you need to have a phone with you while working out and wear the Moov Now either around your wrist or ankle. My favorite bit is the coach giving form tips based on the movement of the tracker.
I used it mostly for running and at-home workout. The device also works for swimming, cycling and boxing. The 7 minute workout program is easy to follow and fun, and my most used feature.
There isn’t much information shown on the app about your activity like distance, calories etc unlike other bands. But the real magic here is the audio cues you’ll hear from your coach. For instance, the app even tells you if your feet are hitting the ground too hard. The sensors are pretty intense! The Running mode instantly makes the run much more productive rather than random runs which I used to do earlier.
“Come on, you’ve got this!” “You can do it!” or “Keep at it, nice work”. Like I said, this a coach worth listening to. And the best part is, you can control the frequency of the coach! Now here’s a coach you can control. I wonder what my gym trainer would say about that!
I will be posting more about my journey with fitness here on the blog and on my instagram. Let me know in the comments how you keep yourself motivated!
