Everyone wants great skin but hardly anyone wants to put effort into it. That’s not how things work, folks! Most of us have skin that needs a little push to look awesome. Depending on your age and skin type, there are many different things that help but here are 5 things you absolutely SHOULD be doing –

Have a night time skincare routine

Skin repairs itself at night and therefore it is the best time to treat it. Make sure to cleanse your face at night, take off all makeup if you’ve done any and clean the grime and dust of the day. Using a cleanser/face wash best for your skin type, create a clean canvas. Now you need to feed the skin with nutrients and hydration. If you sleep in an air conditioned room, hydration is all the more important. Recommendations: Kiehls Ultra Facial Cleanser, Himalaya Neem Face Wash, The Body Shop Vitamin E cleanser. Use sun protection

A lot of people I know are apprehensive about sunscreen. They assume it is greasy and feels heavy on the skin. Well, products have changed. A lot of brands are making non greasy sunscreens now. There is no reason to not use sunscreen anymore! You can even use a BB cream that has SPF. The sun can wreak havoc on your skin. Dryness, pigmentation, wrinkles, skin cancer. It is not good news. Recommendations: Neutrogena Ultrasheer Dry Touch Sun Block, Garnier Skin Naturals Sun Control, Kaya Skin Clinic Daily Moisturizing Sunscreen, Colorbar BB cream with SPF.

Exfoliate using mild exfoliants

Please, for the love of all things nice, stop using harsh scrubs on your face. They do more harm than good. But you absolutely should use a gentle cream exfoliant that contains acids that exfoliate the skin without abrasive ingredients. Once a week, use it as a mask for 10 mins and reveal newer, better skin. Recommendations: The Body Shop Vitamin E Cream Exfoliator, Dermalogica Gentle Cream Exfoliant.
