I am currently baffled. Today I thought of writing about my blogging journey and experience, so I went back to my first ever post to see when I wrote it…and I am amazed to see that I had published it exactly 8 years ago. Unbelievable. How did I think about writing this exactly on the same date? Aren’t such coincidences bizarre? Is this a sign…of something?
While I marvel at this strange coincidence, let me tell you how I started blogging. At that time I was a software engineer in an IT company, my first job. September 2008 was when I had just completed a project and had basically nothing to do for the next couple of months. And so I registered on WordPress!
Soon I was publishing my poetry and became part of this wonderful community. Since then, I have come to know some amazing people, but more significantly, I have come to know myself. Blogging has made me write more and more, and the more I write, the more I discover myself. I would never have started The Lifestyle Stew if I hadn’t started Serendipity. However, I must say, managing both these blogs while working full time hasn’t been easy. And nowadays you gotta pay equal attention to your social media as well. That takes time too! Speaking of social media, I see this new fad of Instagram blogging. I really love Instagram. Great medium to share pictures and to find inspiration. But I don’t think you can really call it blogging. Micro blogging, maybe. What do you think?
These 8 years have been amazing and I thank each one of you who ever read even one post, liked or commented. You guys keep me going. Also, big hug to Preeti for being such an incredible support through this journey.
This month we have taken a new step in blogging. Participating in the My Friend Alexa campaign by blogchatter and so far really loving it. Found some very interesting blogs and I can already see a huge improvement in my Alexa rank!
Hope to devote more time and energy to blogging. Got big plans!
Wish me luck 🙂
And, happy blogging anniversary to me 🙂
(I am taking my Alexa rank to the next level with Blogchatter)
