October – Breast cancer awareness month

Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says: “I’ll try again tomorrow.”
~ Mary Ann Radmacher

Don’t we all love being a woman? Having thousands of pairs of shoes and still keep on buying more without feeling guilt afterwards, being able to multitask, pampering ourselves with a tub of ice-cream, knowing more colors than the basic pink, red, blue?
Being a woman is a blessing indeed.
But, being a woman can seem like a double edged sword the moment you find out you’re a carrier of breast cancer. Breast cancer has emerged as the most common female cancer in developing countries, while in the west this has been the leading cancer for years now.

October is International breast cancer awareness month and Beautifour would like to spread awareness through this post.

Any form of cancer can turn a person’s world upside down.

You can lower the risk of by simply starting a healthy lifestyle. I would insist to start appearing for yearly screenings once you cross the age of 45.

We would urge you to read up on self examination techniques.

While we’re at it, we would like to list down a few organizations who’re known for their hard work and dedication towards breast cancer research. You can also donate on the given websites.
Your contributions help fund education and advocacy programs, researches that should lead to the ultimate goal – the elimination of breast cancer. You can make a real difference in the lives of those affected and facing the disease by supporting.

Indian Cancer Foundation
Pink Ribbon Foundation
Breast Cancer Foundation India
Ogaan Cancer Foundation

If not financially, you can show support by spreading awareness by wearing pink, as the pink ribbon is a symbol for breast cancer awareness.

Thank you, stay healthy always!
