Award shows; love them or hate them, you simply cannot ignore them. For a very obvious reason, fashion lovers love the red carpet event the most. Before this huge event airs on tv and while the stars worked hard to accomplish a black lady, we at Beautifour rated the stars and we would love to show you as well. Keep on reading!
Starting off with the SOTY team, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra look very classy. Whereas Sidharth played safe with a bow-tie and the traditional black/white suit, Varun decided to go for a classy maroon blazer which he managed to pull off quite nicely!
Alia Bhatt opted for a Manish Malhotra lengha, the look is a eeny-teeny bit overdone because of the side swept hair, something younger would have made her a bit more interesting to look at.
As much as we’d like to compliment Deepika Padukone’s sexiness in this outfit, we can’t deny this cut-out gown from Prabal Gurung wasn’t appropriate for an awards event. This could have been a show stealer if worn to an after-party. Compliments for her lovely hairdo, red/tangerinish lips and oh, those studded Louboutins seem to have fallen right out of heaven.
Marking her attendance at the event, was a Gaurav Gupta couture suit for Dia Mirza. This colour makes her a bit pale, one shade darker would do much more. Love the way she paired the nude Jimmy Choo heels and keeping the jewelry not too heavy, with just Amrapali drop earrings. Dia looked very vintage and pretty overall. Also, the Jimmy Choo clutch deserves a special mention.
I couldn’t help but going wheeeeee when I saw Sridevi making turn all heads towards her at the event. She looked stunning in an Alberta Ferretti off shoulder gown. The colour is just wow and we love the way she pulls it off so easily. The silver jewelry goes very well with it. Also, brownie points for the Judith Leiber gift box minaudiere.. We like!
And here we have the newly-weds Siddharth Kapur and the classy Vidya Balan. We weren’t surprised to see Vidya in a Sabyasachi design for this evening. Something just doesn’t seem right about this saree, maybe it’s the check design, maybe the orange pallu, we don’t know. Nevertheless, the couple seemed very happy and Vidya was glowing. The sindoor totally enhanced her happy face, we wish this cute couple many more happy years together!
We don’t know if Parineeti Chopra tried to pull an Angelina Jolie here with the leg cut bit, but the Rajat Tangri gown was terribly creased. It made us think as if she chose this dress in a hurry and wore it without ironing! We would like to compliment Parineeti’s red lips here.
We can safely say that Anushka Sharma looked FLAW-FREAKING-LESS in this high neck gown by Victoria Beckham. Everything was exactly as needed. She didn’t wish to play safe and took out a fabulous colour, the red lips are a big big win and the winged liner makes us wanna say raawrrr. Stunning!
Between all the gowns and dresses, Chitrangda Singh settled down for a Desi look and looked very pretty in an Anand Kabra saree. Amrapali earrings, Eina Ahluwalia haath phool and a Gucci clutch totally added glamour. Just when we thought she couldn’t get more gorgeous, her braided hair was the icing on the cake. Uff, Ain’t nobody like a Desi girl, for real!
Talking about Desi girls, how could we forget PeeCee? Miss Chopra walked down the red carpet in a turquoise blue Giorgio Armani custom-made strapless gown. A lovely Jimmy Choo clutch completed her look as she walked away with her soft curls swept to a side. Lovely.
We know, we didn’t really pay attention to the male eyecandies, so here are the best dressed gentlemen of the evening:
Side note: KJo, please leave those glittery shoes home next time!
So that, my dear fashionistas, were the real eyecatchers of the night.
